This is Julie's wedding dress I knit out of 'size 3' cotton from Michael's on size 4mm needles. I also drafted and sewed the lining. She and Darren got married last Wednesday on the beach in Hawaii!

Completions

Well, the wedding dress FINALLY got completed over the weekend. It was a lot of effort but in the end it's beautiful. I'll get a picture up soon.

I was surprised by Runway, I didn't think Christian had enough experience to win, but his designs showed more drama than anyone else.

Lots of 'honey-do's' to get done, ballgown with hoop skirt ( bigger than Gone with the Wind ) and assorted costumes to get fitted.

No rest for the weary.

Project Runway

My partner swears I should do runway, but I'm not sure. It's a lot of pressure to come up with a unique, wearable, fashionable garment that doesn't fall apart coming down the runway. Plus, I'm used to sewing for "plus-sized" girls (re drag queens) and the proportion on a runway model is like a third of what I'm used to. Anyway, the wedding baby-doll for my friend is getting closer to completion. Once I get it done, I'll post a pic. Oh and just my $.02, Rami's going to win.

First Post

Since this is the first post, it seems I should add something auspicious, but I'm not feeling especially auspicious today.

I'm a practicing computer programmer, avid knitter, spinner and reader. Um.. yeah, the knitting/spinning/sewing thing is a little 'atypical' for a guy, but you learn to live with it. I like to visit the gym and thus the "nom de blog."

I've a full house with my partner Brent, a rescued greyhound, Cookie and a very cranky Siamese, leGrande.
